St Tim's Christmas Banner 2021

Just a bit more time to submit articles, recipes, etc. for our Christmas issue of The Banner! This is a good chance to bring our community together since many have not seen each other since the start of the pandemic. Remember it is also a good outreach tool to those we are reaching for Jesus. Your submission can be dropped off to Barrie & Do on Sundays or you can e-mail it to dbfox@autoroute.net. The deadline is Monday, December 20th.

Cuban Church Support

Cuban Church Support

We are supporting the annual salary of a pastor in Cuba and contribute funds for other needs. The salary need has been covered, but funds are still required for medical, transportation and water wells. Please prayerfully consider what the Lord is asking you to contribute in the next few weeks. Please designate in your offering the portion for Cuba.

“At the present time, your abundance will meet their need, so that one day their abundance may also meet your need, and thus there may be equality,” – 2 Corinthians 8:14 (NET)

Men's Breakfast @ Pastor Dan's Farm

Men's Breakfast @ Pastor Dan's Farm

SATURDAY, JULY 17 @ 10 AM | CONTACT CHUCK or MARTIN | UPDATE: CANCELLED due to weather

We would like to meet together at Pastor Dan’s farm in Elgin for breakfast or brunch with our spouses, children and neighbours or friends, if you would like to invite them. In our usual manner we would like to break bread together and celebrate God’s goodness as we seem to be at or very near the end of this awful pandemic.

This will be an outdoor event. We hope this time together will help us deepen our friendships. Pray for sunny weather but if the weather turns wet be prepared. Umbrella anyone? As mentioned we intend to eat together and we intend to prepare breakfast for you. A $5 or $10 donation will help to cover expenses.

If you are a little uncomfortable eating food not from your kitchen, don’t fret, bring your own food. We suggest you bring something ready to eat, there may not be much room by the cook’s fire. We will have coffee, tea for everyone and maybe some juice. Now, everyone will need to bring something to sit on, something to carry food on, something to drink from and something to eat with… bring your own dishware and a bag for your garbage. We don’t want to leave our litter at the farm. Oh, I almost forgot, do you play an instrument? Maybe a guitar, banjo or a juice harp! Bring it along‼ It will be nice to sit around a fire and sing songs of praise. Please plan to arrive between 10h00-10h30.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

It is that time of year again. Christmas shoe box gifts are a great way to cheer, to encourage, to help a needy child overseas. Bob Sumner will have boxes ready to fill in the church entrance this Sunday. If you can’t pick it up in person, someone can deliver it to you and pick it up when it is filled. Filled boxes must be back to Bob Sumner by November 16th.

What not to include: Candy; toothpaste; used or damaged items; war-related items, i.e. toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.

Another option is Operation Christmas Child’s online shoebox site, where Operation Christmas Child will pack a gift-filled shoebox to share God’s love with a hurting child overseas, without even leaving your home: packabox.samaritanspurse.ca. The cost is $40.00, which includes the $10.00 shipping charge.

Love Your Neighbours – An Initiative from WIN & TQSOI

Love Your Neighbours – An Initiative from WIN & TQSOI

This original LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOURS (LYN) project started by the West Island Network (of Churches) in September 2019, in collaboration with the TQSOI (Table de Quartier du Sud de l’Ouest de l’Île), aims to reduce hidden poverty.

In this time of COVID-19 pandemic, this initiative can become a hub for peer support, a volunteer database and a space for people to share initiatives and need. Their Facebook Page & Facebook Group will be the platform for this hub.

They have also just released their Top 10 Ways to Love Your West Island Neighbours During COVID-19.
